Media Advisory: Washburn University’s Move-In Day is Thursday, Aug. 15

Topeka, Kan. – Washburn University faculty and staff will begin welcoming students to campus tomorrow, Aug. 15, during Move-In Day. Washburn University president Jerry Farley will be helping students who are moving into the Living Learning Center (LLC) beginning at 9 a.m.

Who: Washburn University students, faculty and staff. It’s a Washburn University community event to welcome our students for the new academic year.

What: Washburn University Move-In Day

When: August 15, 2018; 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.      

President Farley will be helping students 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. starting at The Living Learning Center (LLC), and then will move to Lincoln Hall and Washburn Villages. He will be accompanied by Patrick Early, public relations director. You can call Patrick Early at (717) 385 – 1119 to get Farley’s location at any time.

Where:

  • The Living Learning Center (adjacent to the Memorial Union, accessed via Jewell Ave. from 17th St.)
  • Lincoln Hall (off of 19th St.)
  • Washburn Village (off of Jewell Ave. from 21st St.)

Move-In Day is the start of university-wide activities designed to help new and returning students become acclimated to campus, learn a little more about student life at Washburn, and hopefully make a few new friends.
