Topeka, Kan. – The Mulvane Art Fair is back in-person June 4 & 5, 2022. The fair will feature 80 artists working in various media from across the state, region and country. This popular community event serves as the Mulvane Art Museum's primary fundraiser, providing critical support for educational programs and exhibitions.

Each year, the museum selects a featured artist from a previous fair. This year’s featured artist is Anthony Grant, from Lafayette, Colorado. Grant is a self-taught painter. He typically distills his subjects into simplified geometric forms. Slightly muted, harmonious color schemes characterize Grant’s popular landscape paintings. His art fair booth will feature a number of representational and abstract paintings, including Water Meets Sand, 2022, an oil on canvas painting.

Looking forward to getting back to an in-person event, Grant says, “I am excited to be a part of the Mulvane Art Fair for 2022. It’s an honor to be represented as this years Featured Artist! It was a privilege to have one of my paintings added to the Mulvane Art Museum permanent collection in 2019. Over the years I have enjoyed coming back to this show to be with quality artists, patrons and friends and the wonderful community of Topeka!”

A number of Kansas artists will exhibit at this year's fair, including photographers Jeremy Wangler, Topeka, Kansas, and Ric Cummings, Overland Park, Kansas, graphic artist Nick Perry, Topeka, Kansas, painter Cathy Wilkins, Hutchinson, Kansas, artists Sue Mersman, Wetmore, Kansas, Kale VanLeeuwen, Kansas City, Kansas, Carl Brooks, Olathe, Kansas and jeweler Stacy Kleymann, Andover, Kansas.

In addition to artists' booths, the Mulvane Art Fair features an ArtLab Outdoors experience for families with children. Art Fair attendees can also enjoy fare from local food vendors such as Pineapple Dream, The Southern Star, and Flavor Wagon and taste craft selections at Chartwells beer garden. In addition, the event will include live musical performances by

Sean McDonnell & Howard Mahan, the Josh Vowell Band, the Reye Brothers Trio and Billy Ebeling & the Late Dinner Band.

The Mulvane Art Fair is an annual event organized by the Friends of the Mulvane Art Museum to engage the community and feature art, music, and family fun. Major corporate sponsors include Aristocrat Motors Topeka (Diamond), Capitol Federal Foundation (Platinum), Stone & Story Real Estate Group (Gold), Bartlett & West, Brewster Place, Cassidy Orthodontics, Hamilton, Wilson & Henderson Orthodontics, and SBL Charitable Trust (Silver).
