Topeka, Kan. – Washburn University faculty and staff will begin welcoming students to campus Thursday, Aug. 18. Washburn University president Jerry Farley will greet students who are moving into the Living Learning Center (LLC) beginning at 9 a.m. This is Farley’s last Move-In Day attendance as president, as he is retiring on Sept. 30 of this year.
Who: Washburn University students, faculty and staff. It’s a Washburn University community event to welcome our students for the new academic year.

When: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., Aug. 18
President Farley will be greeting students beginning at 9 a.m. starting at the Living Learning Center (LLC), and then will move to Lincoln Hall. He will be accompanied by Patrick Early, public relations director. You can call Patrick Early at (717) 385 – 1119 to get Farley’s location at any time from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

-The Living Learning Center (adjacent to the Memorial Union, accessed via Jewell Ave. from 17th)
-Lincoln Hall (off of 19th)
-Washburn Villages (off of Jewell Ave. from 21st)
Move-In Day is the start of university-wide activities designed to help new and returning students become acclimated to campus, learn a little more about student life at Washburn and hopefully make new friends.
Washburn’s COVID guidelines state that masks are not mandatory but are welcomed. Anyone planning to attend Move-In Day that feels sick or has been exposed to COVID should plan not to attend or test negative before attending. Students can call Student Health Services to schedule a COVID test.
