Topeka, Kan. – Washburn Tech will celebrate veterans and active-duty military members during a Veterans Day ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11 in the Conference Center at 5724 SW Huntoon St.
The event will include a flag presentation by the Highland Park ROTC, singing of the national anthem by Washburn Tech culinary student Zach Wahweotten and the pledge of allegiance led by children in Little Learners at Washburn Tech. Retired Lt. Col. Larry Bergeron, a current carpentry student, and Vietnam veteran Robert Sines will provide special remarks. The ceremony wraps up with a presentation of gifts to veterans and those who currently serve our country.
The event is free and open to the public.
