Topeka, Kan. - The Washburn biology department is hosting Biology Day Friday, Sept. 29, for students interested in studying biology. This event is open to current Washburn students and individuals interested in attending Washburn.

When: 3 - 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 29

Where: Stoffer Science Hall, Washburn University campus

      Students will have the opportunity to talk to faculty about different class options and majors, meet with current students within the department and hear from Washburn admissions about scholarship opportunities. 

Washburn’s biology department has five different emphases:

  • Environmental biology
  • Forensic biology
  • Molecular biology and biotechnology
  • Biology secondary education
  • Pre-health professions

      High school students who will be attending Washburn and majoring in biology will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for a $500 scholarship.
