Topeka, Kan. – The Washburn University department of music and theatre will host the 2023 Washburn Piano & Organ Society holiday recital 7:30, Dec. 1 in Carole Chapel on the Washburn University campus. The Washburn Piano & Organ Society consists of Washburn University piano majors and minors, as well as non-keyboard majors who are passionate about playing the piano. This performance is free and open to the public.
When: 7:30 – 9 p.m., Dec. 1

The recital will feature wintry and festive tunes, including an assortment of sacred carol arrangements and secular favorites, such as "Duet Fantasy on Jingle Bells" and "Sleigh Ride," as well as selections from holiday movies, Claude Debussy's piano prelude "Footsteps in the Snow" and more.
Featured pianists include Blake Masters, Dylan Rizzo, William Cason, John Heithoff, Weslie Evans, Adriel Holloway, Carl Rorstrom, Agraj Bhandari, Iza Lemon and Malakai Fischer. The pianists are mentored by Washburn University's Director of Keyboard Studies and Lecturer of Applied Piano, Dr. Lucy Tan.
