Topeka, Kan. – Helping students make the leap from college to career is the focus of Washburn Tech’s Career Fair. The two-day event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 19 and 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on March 20 in the Washburn Tech Conference Center at 5724 SW Huntoon St. Area employers will be on hand and students will have a chance to meet them and polish their interview skills.

This two-day format gives employers more time with each student. More than 65 area companies are expected to participate in the 2024 Career Fair.

On Tuesday, March 19, students in the following programs are invited to attend:

- Manufacturing (Advanced Systems Technology, Certified Production Technology, Industrial Production Technology, Machine/Tool, Welding)

- Construction (Cabinet/Millwork, Carpentry, Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC), Electrical, Plumbing Technology)

- Design & Technology (Graphic Technology, Information Systems Technology, Engineering Drafting & Design)

- Hospitality (Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Early Childhood Education)

- Transportation (Collision Repair, Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology)

On Wednesday, March 20, Health Occupations students in the following programs are invited to attend.

- Advanced EMT, Medication Aide (CMA), Nurse Aide (CNA), Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Foundations of Healthcare Pathways, Home Health Aide, Phlebotomy, Practical Nursing, Sterile Processing, Surgical Technology

Area employers are invited to attend and connect with enthusiastic students who are seeking employment.  The cost is $40 per day for employers and includes an 8-foot table and chairs, breakfast and lunch.
