Topeka, Kan. – Washburn Tech is gearing up to host its 24th annual Car Show from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 3, at 5724 SW Huntoon St. The show is free to the public. Entry fees for the show are $20 prior to the event, and $25 on the day of the show.
Cars, trucks and motorcycles will be divided into five classes: muscle cars, antique cars and trucks, motorcycles, special interest and custom/low riders. Entrants may preregister at https://www.washburntech.edu/student-life/campus-events.html. Additional attractions include food trucks, a silent auction, music, a bake sale, toy car races, games and more.
The Washburn Tech Car Show is a yearly fundraiser for the Care Closet, a committee that provides financial relief to currently enrolled students experiencing hardship that may interfere with their academic progress. The Care Closet addresses financial insecurity, provides hygiene supplies and household goods, makes available gift cards for fuel, and offers emergency funds to students in need of assistance. This free and confidential supportive service has an impact on the daily lives and futures of Washburn Tech students.
