Topeka, Kan. – The Washburn University Department of Music and Theatre will host performances throughout May featuring music students and faculty. These concerts are on the Washburn University campus, they are free and they are open to the public.
Washburn University Percussion Studio Recital

The Washburn Percussion Ensemble will showcase students' talent through solo performances at the studio recital. Each musician will bring a unique touch to the stage, delivering a diverse range of percussive expressions that highlight their individual artistry.
Washburn President’s Concert

Location: White Concert Hall
Enjoy the Washburn University Department of Music and Theatre's President's Concert in honor of President JuliAnn Mazachek May 3. Washburn ensembles, faculty and Concerto Competition winners will perform a variety of music throughout the concert.
Washburn Opera Studio and Choral Ensemble Concert
Date and Time: 7:30 p.m. May 4, and 2 p.m. May 5
Location: Neese-Gray Theatre in Garvey Fine Arts Center
The Washburn Opera Studio and Choral Ensemble will perform composer George Frideric Handel's "Semele." This Baroque opera explores the relationship between the mortals and the gods.
Washburn Composition Studio Performance
Date and Time: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 7
Location: White Concert Hall
Students of the Washburn Composition Studio will showcase original work they have been practicing all semester.
