Scholarships available at Washburn’s special enrollment event for upcoming fall semester
Topeka, Kan. – Students and prospective students who plan to attend Washburn University but have not registered for classes are eligible for scholarship drawings worth $10,000 during a Saturday, Aug. 2, enrollment event. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Welcome Center of Morgan Hall, students can also complete a free application and choose a class schedule. The event is open to returning students.
“Classes are starting soon, and there is still time for you to find your path to success,” said Steve Luoma, Washburn University’s interim vice president for enrollment management. “Washburn is passionate about providing a prestigious, affordable education and providing students with the support they need to thrive.”
During the event, students will have the opportunity to complete tasks associated with enrollment, including submitting an application for admission, speaking with an advisor and registering for classes. Attendees and their families also can learn about financial aid. Washburn faculty and staff will guide students through the process.
New and returning students have the chance to win up to a $4,000 scholarship through several drawings totaling $10,000, the most the University has awarded during the annual special registration event. Students who have not enrolled for any Fall 2025 classes are eligible for the scholarship drawing.
Refreshments will be served. Registration for the event is not required, but new incoming students are asked to bring a copy of their transcripts. Questions can be directed to the Washburn University Admissions Office at 785-670-1030 or admissions@washburn.edu.
Luoma said the event is designed to simplify the process of enrolling.
“It is never too late to achieve your goals, and this event is a great way to take the next step toward living your dreams,” he said. “We encourage potential students and their families to make a short investment of time on a Saturday and learn why Washburn is the right place for you to succeed.”
