Washburn University Invites Homeschool Juniors and Seniors to the First Ichabod Day Created for Them on Sept. 22

Topeka, Kan. – Homeschool seniors and juniors can experience life as an Ichabod, including Washburn’s academic excellence and nationally recognized student success initiatives, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Sept. 22. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to win a $1,500 scholarship during Washburn University’s first-ever Ichabod Day exclusively for homeschool students.

“Washburn is committed to providing a prestigious education at a manageable cost, as well as all the support students need to excel,” said Steve Luoma, Washburn University’s interim vice president for enrollment management. “We’re dedicated to creating paths for students to achieve their dreams, and we’re excited to show homeschool students why Washburn is the right place for them to thrive.”

In addition to the scholarship drawing, attendees will meet professors and current students, tour Washburn’s vibrant campus, learn more about the university’s robust financial aid programs and enjoy lunch for free in Lincoln Dining Hall.

Washburn hosts several Ichabod Days for prospective students each year, but this is the first one devoted to homeschool students.

“Washburn is a small school with big experiences,” Luoma said. “This event will illustrate why the school is a great fit for these students and their families.”
