I Heart Cello Day 2026
Topeka, Kan. — Washburn University will host the annual “I Heart Cello Day” beginning at 8 a.m. Feb. 14 in the Garvey Fine Arts Center on the Washburn University campus. This is a chamber music festival that celebrates the love of cellos.
Cellists ranging from beginners to professionals participate in this free event. Participants have the opportunity to learn and perform arrangements for cello groups and make new cello friends. All participants must have previously registered.
The event concludes with a concert at 2 p.m. in White Concert Hall on the campus of Washburn University. This concert is free and open to the public.
“Opportunities like ‘I Heart Cello Day’ allow Washburn University cello students and instructors to share what they do in the classroom with other cello enthusiasts in our community,” said Erinn Renyer, lecturer, Washburn University, and founder and director of the Topeka Cello Collective. “This is a special day of learning, sharing and fun!”
