2026 Kansas Undergraduate Research Day is Feb. 26 in the Kansas Capitol

Topeka, Kan. - Washburn University students will join their Kansas public university peers Feb. 26 to present their research during the annual Kansas Undergraduate Research Day at the Kansas Capitol. Students, faculty, Kansas Board of Regents members, state lawmakers and members of the public are invited to visit the Capitol Rotunda 2 -4 p.m. Feb. 26 to view the students’ presentations.         “Kansas Undergraduate Research Day brings undergraduate students from across the state and state leaders together to highlight their research, work especially relevant to Kansans,” said Dr. Kerry Wynn, director of the center for undergraduate scholarly/creative projects and history professor, Washburn University. “It also gives student researchers an opportunity to discuss their work with legislators.”

This event highlights the work of up to 40 Kansas undergraduate student projects representing each of the state’s public four-year institutions. This event emphasizes higher education’s role in developing educated citizens and preparing a workforce with the necessary skills to further the economic growth of the state.

Other participating institutions are the University of Kansas, Kansas State University, Wichita State University, Pittsburg State University, Fort Hays State University, Emporia State University and the University of Kansas Medical Center.
