Media Advisory: Washburn University Theatre to Present “War Paint” Nov. 8-17

WHAT: The Washburn University theatre department presents “War Paint,” a two-act musical about the lives and rivalry of 20th century entrepreneurs Elizabeth Arden and Helena Rubinstein, beginning this Friday. “War Paint” is based on Lindy Woodhead’s 2004 book “War Paint” and the 2007 documentary “The Powder and the Glory.” The show premiered in Chicago in 2015 and on Broadway in 2017.

The show is open to all. There is a suggested donation of $10; the proceeds from “War Paint” will support theatre students’ trip to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2020.

WHEN: Nov. 8, 9, 15 and 16 @ 7:30 p.m.; Nov. 17 @ 2 p.m.

WHERE: Georgia Neese Gray Theatre in the Garvey Fine Arts Building on the Washburn University campus
