Celebration of Cultures 2019

Join the International Club at Washburn with a celebration of the many cultures in our community. There will be delicious international food, performances by international students and lots of activities.

9:00 a.m. – Noon  – University Theatre Lobby-- Free & Open to the Public

Theatre students run a sewing repair pop up shop

Washburn Theatre students are raising money to support the spring production of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival by running a sewing repair pop up shop.  Drop off your garmets in need of minor alterations or with missing buttons, small tears or which need hemming in the theatre lobby on Friday and pick them up on Monday November 25 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.  – Kuehne Bell Tour -- Free & Open to the Public

Annual Lighting of the Kuehne Bell Tower

The Kuehne Bell Tower will be putting on its holiday finest with a special lighting ceremony changing from its normal boring white to festive holiday colors.  The ceremony marks the official start of Washburn’s Toys for Tots campaign and features a performance by Washburn’s Low Brass Ensemble, hot chocolate and cider as well as holiday cookies

Washburn Transformation Experience – Day of Transformation

Each year, hundreds of Washburn students complete a Washburn Transformational Experience (WTE) project. These projects provide opportunities for students to enhance their learning through direct interaction with faculty while engaging in experiences outside of the classroom.

The Day of Transformation is an opportunity for those students to present their completed projects to the public. Students will present posters with information about their projects. The Day of Transformation is Friday, Nov. 22, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Bradbury Thompson Alumni Center.

Thursday & Friday, December 5 & 6, 2019

9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.  – Washburn’s Neese Gray Theatre -- Free & Open to the Public

Theatre Department presents student-directed scenes

Theatre students chose scenes from published plays, held auditions, produced and directed the scenes, and now they're ready for an audience! Come see the scenes for yourself on Dec. 5 and 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the campus theatre.
