Thursday & Friday, December 5 & 6, 2019 7:30 p.m. – Washburn’s Neese Gray Theatre -- Free & Open to the Public Theatre Department presents student-directed scenes Theatre students chose scenes from published plays, held auditions, produced and directed the scenes, and now they're ready for an audience! Come see the scenes for yourself on Dec. 5 and 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the campus theatre. |

Friday, December 6, 2019 3:00 p.m. – Garvey Hall (Room 130) -- Free & Open to the Public Washburn Tech turns into Santa’s workshop with annual toy build This Friday, Washburn Tech is hold jolliest tradition this Friday, Dec. 6! Washburn Tech will host its annual volunteer Toy Build Work Day to benefit Toys for Tots. Projects include homemade wooden step stools, hobby horses, beatbox drums and yoyos. The event will last from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Building K on Washburn Tech’s campus at 5724 SW Huntoon St. |

Friday, December 6, 2019 3:00 p.m. – Garvey Hall (Room 130) -- Free & Open to the Public Theatre students present showcase Theatre students from the performance and costume classes will be showing off what they have accomplished this semester. This showcase takes place near the end of each semester in the university theatre with light refreshments for the audience. |

Friday, December 6, 2019 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Student Wellness and Recreation Center Puppies and kittens come to the rescue of stressed students Every semester, Washburn University puts on a number of events during the lead up to finals to help students de-stress. One of the most popular and cutest is the arrival of puppies and kittens at the Student Wellness and Recreation Center. The furry therapists are just looking for hugs and petting and are more than willing to calm anxious students. The event will take place in the SWRC multi-purpose room. |

Sunday, December 8, 2019 4:00 p.m. – White Concert Hall – Open to the Public – donations accepted at the door Washburn holds annual Holiday Vespers concert The Washburn music department will perform its annual Holiday Vespers concert at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8 in Washburn's White Concert Hall. This concert showcases numerous choral and instrumental groups performing holiday-themed music, along with lights and decorations. The concert is open to the public and donations are gratefully accepted at the door. |
